A full-bodied Chianti made from 100% Sangiovese from the Villa Le Calvane in the Tuscany wine region. Look for fresh acidity on this bright cherry, sweet spice, earthy, smoky and meaty red wine. Youthful with chewy tannins. Enjoy now and for the next eight years. Pair with grilled game sausages.

Chianti food pairings: meat lover's pizza, hard cheeses, pasta Bolognese.

Reviews and Ratings

Trent Mayers rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Well put together, just over medium bodied Chianti made with 100% Sangiovese. Earthy, juicy red cherry, fennel, spice, with just noticeable vanilla. Tremendously food friendly acidity and relatively high tannins makes it an equally good pairing for pasta in tomato sauce with meatballs or steak. 3.5 stars out of 5.
Love the nose on this Tuscany Sangiovese with dark cherry, leather, cedar smoke and black pepper aromas. A medium-plus-bodied, juicy and vibrant red with tart cherry, smoky dried herbs, violets and savoury spice flavours on the palate. Pair with a meat-lover's pizza. - Community Wine Reviews
