Reviews and Ratings

Daniel O'Keefe rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Broad nose offering a plethora of aromas including cassis, violet, cocoa, espresso, and earth. Formidable tannins possessing good grip, in need of decanting or additional cellar time. Mint appears in the finish surrounded by ripe and fresh dark fruits. Complex, layered, and structured, enjoy now through 2024 with lamb and mint jelly, coffee-rubbed steak, or grilled portobello burgers.
Carolyn Hetke rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Deep garnet in the glass. A hint of petrol on the nose. Fruit has receded but it is still a big and intense wine. Best enjoyed with food to balance the tannins that are still very much present. Try it with BBQ ribs or steak. Tasted April, 2019 89
Lapostolle's Cuvée Alexandre 2015 is a full-bodied, structured, big red made mostly from the Cabernet Sauvignon wine grape with some Cab Franc and Syrah added for depth and complexity. Layered with ripe dark fruit, cassis, dark cherry, cedar spice and savoury herb flavours on the palate. Tannins are velvety. Produced from biodynamically grown wine grapes. - Community Wine Reviews
