A rich, unctuous, luscious dessert wine with aromas of golden apple, pear and baking spice. This icewine is made from the Chardonnay grape, giving it a voluptuous roundness. Perfect for creme brulee or caramel popcorn.

Reviews and Ratings

Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Lovely, smooth, and full of flavour. Aromas of ripe pear, golden apple, caramel and warm spices. Full bodied with a luscious mouthfeel, vibrant fruit and balancing acidity. More warm spicy notes on the finish. Enjoy with custard-based desserts.
Winery Note - Aromas of caramel and creamy butterscotch greet the nose. On the palate, notes of rich chewy caramel, banana cream pie, vanilla, and butterscotch abound. Rounding out with an even finish of apples and peaches.

Some might say this is a sweet whisky as it has whisky on the note as well as a strong finish like whisky. It's not overly sweet for an Icewine. It shows some warmth from the 12.5 per cent alcohol and has good length, lasting for several minutes. This is listed as World top 3 of chardonnay. The international Chardonnay du Monde 2019 competition, in its 26th year, featured nearly 700 samples of Chardonnay wines from 36 countries.

Suggested Food pairing - Sweet & savory baked chicken with pineapple and tarragon brings the saltiness of protein, with the sweetness of pineapple, helping balance the wine. Or seared king trumpet mushrooms with garlic and thyme. On the side of a sweeter pairing, freshly baked lemon and blueberry scones, drizzled with some Chardonnay Icewine reduction.
