Reviews and Ratings

Greg Hughes rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

This wine comes from the Cotes Catalanes, in the South of France. It is much hotter than Chardonnay's terf usually is, in France. This is almost like coastal California, but for a smoking price.
Pretty colour. Developing darker golden hues. Very whitish-hay coloured.
It is ultra-ripe and sunny. It is ripe with tons of stone fruit, grapefruit, pineapple, and some nice notes of oak maturation. Cream, kitchen spice, and a lean lemony character on the finish. Good acidity.
Put this wine with steamed mussels or a salad with fresh mozzarella.
Carolyn Hetke rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

This was a lovely clear lemon colour in the glass. There was a citrusy nose but with some distinctive oiliness, which later dissipated. It was nicely balanced and smooth on the palate where the lemon was still very much in play. Nice long finish with somes subtle toasty oak.
Lafage Novellum 2016 is a full-bodied, nutty Chardonnay from Roussillon. This southern French Chardonnay is a custom cuvee created by the importer Eric Solomon. It's made from 100% Chardonnay grapes that are sourced from two vineyards. The wine is matured for 3 months on Viognier lees in both Burgundian oak barrels and stainless steel vats. - Community Wine Reviews
