Winemaker Shantal Silverthorne, a Niagara College graduate with over 14 years of industry experience who advanced from lab technician to winemaker specializing in sparkling wines before joining Konzelmann, crafts this wine from 46% Cabernet Sauvignon blended with Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Founded in 1984 by fourth-generation German winemaker Herbert Konzelmann, the estate is Niagara's only lakefront winery and benefits from the moderating influence of Lake Ontario, which extends the growing season and protects vines from late spring frosts.
