Bottle size: 750 ml

Alcohol: 14.1%

Sweetness: Extra Dry

Wine Type: White Wine

Winery: Kistler

Natalie's Score: 92/100

Rich and luxurious on the nose and palate yet not heavy. Toasted almond with freshly baked bread aromas. Wakes up the senses on the palate with great acidity and green apple vibrancy. Most Kistler Chardonnays are sourced from a single vineyard but this is the winery's only multi-vineyard site Chardonnay.

Chardonnay food pairings: panko-crusted grilled chicken, salmon steaks, basil pesto, prawn bisque, cheese fondue.

Reviews and Ratings

Melanie Lloyd - Certified Sommelier reviewed this wine as follows:

This rich and creamy Chardonnay has aromas of peach, lemon, tropical fruit, banana candy, with mineral and nutty notes, as well as orange blossom and white pepper. It has flavours of clementine, lemon, caramelized pineapple, and roasted almond. It has crisp acidity and a nice long finish.

Tasted November 2017
The Chardonnay wine grapes for Kistler (2015) were sourced from the winery's only multi-vineyard site on Sonoma Mountain. Look for intense aromas of caramel popcorn, apple, toast, creamery butter, vanilla and nutmeg. Very smooth, even at 14% abv. - Community Wine Reviews

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
