Reviews and Ratings

Molly Amoli Shinhat reviewed this wine as follows:

In the glass, Dark Horse 2019 is a rich pale ruby, washed through with purple. It has a big nose with black fruit - currant, berry, bramble, cherry and plum. On the palate, it shows medium body, medium plus acidity, and high tannins, combined with 12.0% a.b.v. At 1.5 g/l residual sugar, it's an extra dry run of rich, black fruit, fig, and black pepper, a jamminess, with a medium finish.

The hand-harvested cold-weather grapes, 50% Frontenac Noir and 50% Marquette come from Kinburn, Ontario. Fermented in stainless steel with cultured yeast and 20 days' maceration, the ageing was with French Oak staves in stainless steel for five months.

A great fall sipper, pair with hearty soups and medium aged cheeses.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
