Reviews and Ratings

Rich raspberry aromas and flavours on this seductive New Zealand red wine. Lots of mouth-watering acidity: this wine really needs food. Full-bodied, layered and deep, especially for Pinot Noir. Pair with a range of meats: don't hold yourself back. Polished tannins, great balance and a long finish. What more could you want other than someone to share this with? Pair with smoked salmon. MINE: The Pinot Noir wine grapes for Pinot Noir for Jules Taylor (2014) come from South Island, New Zealand Awatere and Brancott Valleys. This is a beautiful, rich raspberry fruit wine with a smoky and long, fruit finish. Pair with more. This wine won Pure Gold at the Air New Zealand Wine Awards in 2014. OTHER: Wonderfully fruited and gorgeously complex, the bouquet shows spiced cherry, dark plum, game, dark mushroom and toasted almond characters. The palate delivers excellent concentration and fleshy mouthfeel, enhanced by silky texture and savoury nuances. It is flavoursome and generous, while remaining elegant and classically structured. Drink date: Now to 2022. Score - 94 (Sam Kim, wineorbit.co.nz, Aug. 2018). - Community Wine Reviews

Red, White & Drunk all over by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean writes about wine with a sensuous obsession... and often laugh-out-loud funny... Terrific.

Ms. MacLean is the disarming Everywoman. She loves wine, loves drinking ... ultimately, it's a winning formula.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
