Pepik is the nickname for Josef in Czech. As an adjective it also means approachable and easy-going, presumably for both Josef and his wine. An unoaked Chardonnay rich and concentrated with ripe peach, apple and citrus zest flavours creamy on the palate from lees ageing. Pair with grilled shellfish dishes.

Chardonnay food pairings: chicken Kiev bites in white sauce, chicken onion mini quiches.

Reviews and Ratings

Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

This Chardonnay is unoaked and is fresh and crisp on the palate. Aromas of green apple, pear, and lemon with some lime zest. Medium bodied on the palate with a creamy texture and medium acidity, with fresh citrus notes, and a clean, slightly mineral finish. Enjoy with fresh seafood.
From the Tasmania wine region, Josef Chromy Pepik 2019 Chardonnay is a cool climate Chard with green apple, ripe peach, citrus zest bright and concentrated on the palate. Fresh and food-friendly, pair with rich seafood and grilled shellfish dishes. - Community Wine Reviews
