Reviews and Ratings

Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

A delicious Shiraz from Langhorne Creek, South Australia, aged 27 mos in French and American oak. An opaque dark garnet colour with an inviting nose of dark berries, vanilla and dark chocolate. The palate gives both berry fruit and herbal elements along with delicious dark chocolate and mint, ending with raspberry jam and dark chocolate on an elegant finish. Wow! Another one for my Christmas wine list.
Tasted Nov. 2016
This robust Australian red wine is a blend of Shiraz grapes from three vineyards planted in the Langhorne Creek region. Primary and secondary (malolactic) fermentation take place in new French oak barrels (80%) and American oak hogsheads (20%). Following 7 months maturation in oak, the individual wines and lots are blended in June prior to bottling during the winter of the same vintage. From the Langhorne Creek area in Australia, the Shiraz grapes for John's Blend Margarete's (2012) were sourced from three vineyards. - Community Wine Reviews

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
