The 2011 vintage of the Prum Wehlener Sonnenuhr Riesling Kabinett is a glorious dessert elixir that's sweeter in style than most Kabinett Rieslings and also has lower alcohol. The Riesling grapes for this wine are grown in one of the country's most respected vineyards. Aromas of golden apple, apricot, honeysuckle. Juicy wonderful. Pair with angel cake.

Riesling Kabinett food pairings: pavlova, bread pudding, chocolate mousse, honey cake.

Reviews and Ratings

Alex & Priya - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

This struck me as a riper and indeed sweeter style of j.j kabinett than I've come to expect and love, highlighting the fine fruit of the vintage. It will appeal to more palates this way, but is still very such about the intense yet elegant expression of slate that comes from the Sonnenuhr vineyard of Wehlen. Good concentration and excellent balance, and fantastic with spicy daal Indian food; but serve it with curry of any form and you'll be impressed. 91 pts
