Fresh cut grass and tropical fruit aromas on this Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc. Dry, intense, herbaceous with passion fruit flavours on the palate finishing with zesty citrus acidity and a salty mineral finish. Nicely balanced. Pair with grilled saltwater fish dishes or fish tacos topped with guacamole and salsa.

Sauvignon Blanc food pairings: tuna steaks, swordfish, grilled whitefish.

Reviews and Ratings

Carolyn Hetke rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

This is very bold example of the characteristic Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc style. Pronounced herbal, grassy nose. Palate is highly savoury with gooseberry, guava and minerality. Long finish. Bold but well balanced. Try with savoury cheesecake. Tasted July 2019 www.thewineloverskitchen.com
Daniel O'Keefe rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Expressive and typical nose of asparagus, zesty grapefruit and lemon, boxwood and vegetal notes, and a little bit of tomato leaf and lime as well. Extra dry with bracing acidity. Medium body and highly food friendly. Replays of citrus and vegetal notes through the finish. A fine match for grilled vegetables and shellfish dishes.
From Marlborough, South Island, Huntaway Reserve 2017 Sauvignon Blanc is produced at Wither Hills by Matt Large, who was the winemaker at Kim Crawford Wines. Fragrant with ripe pear, gooseberry and lime zest aromas on the nose, dry with tropical fruit, fresh herbs, fresh-cut-grass and lime zest flavours on the palate with just a hint of a briny mineral finish. All in balance. Pair with grilled veggies and brunch dishes. - Community Wine Reviews
