Lots of freshly cut grass and herbal aromas on the nose and palate of this vibrant and refreshing New Zealand white wine made from the Sauvignon Blanc grape. Lots of racy acidity for seafood and shellfish.

Sauvignon Blanc food pairings: tuna steaks, swordfish, grilled whitefish.

Reviews and Ratings

Lynn Van Der Linde - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Fresh cut grass and pear aromas swirl in the glass, transforming to stone fruit on the palate with a zippy lime finish. Would be beautiful with rosemary chicken and roasted potatoes or Tex-Mex fare like guacamole, salsa and tortilla chips.
Tasted April 2018.
Huntaway Reserve 2014 Sauvignon Blanc is made at Wither Hills by Matt Large, who was winemaker at Kim Crawford Wines. Look for gooseberry jam, tropical fruits, white pepper and lemongrass on this vintage. This SB is well-structured and balanced with a mouth-watering finish. - Community Wine Reviews

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
