Hirsch's Hirschvergnügen Grüner Veltliner from Kamptal is a vibrant, medium-bodied white wine offering notes of ripe pear, white pepper, fresh herbs and crushed stone. This bone-dry wine displays bright acidity and impressive minerality that will continue to develop over the next two years. Serve it well chilled with pan-seared trout with lemon and dill as the wine's herbaceous character complements the delicate fish, or pair it with grilled pork tenderloin with herb butter where the wine's peppery notes enhance the savory flavors. Winemaker Johannes Hirsch crafts this spicy-fruity Grüner Veltliner from ancient vines planted in historic lesser-known sites, showcasing the depth and complexity that old vines can achieve in Kamptal's distinctive terroir. The Hirsch family has been producing exceptional wines in the Kamptal region for generations, and Johannes has become one of Austria's most respected winemakers, known for his precise, terroir-driven approach. This slender, flavorful Grüner Veltliner represents excellent quality and will drink beautifully through 2027.

Grüner Veltliner food pairings: grilled lake trout, veal chops, pork tenderloin from the grill.
