Reviews and Ratings

Deborah Podurgiel WSET IV Candidate - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

I know where Spring has been hiding. Hester Creek’s Pinot Gris Viognier white wine blend is Spring in a wine bottle. The Pinot Gris grapes for this wine were sourced from Hester Creek’s local Oliver vineyards while the perfectly-ripened Viognier wine grapes (you can taste it) came from Osoyoos vineyards. While each were kept separate in the pressing and fermentation, with their fresh and unique flavours retained in stainless steel tank, the blend of the two is amazing and flawless.

Light pink gold in the glass, PGV is sultry with aromas of creamsicle, honeysuckle, ripe pear and apple on the nose. On the palate, the wine is off-dry (8.1 residual sugar) lightly creamy with ripe pear, apple, honeysuckle blossom, spiced honey and soft citrus with a hint of fresh pineapple weaved through these flavours and lingering long on the finish. Good weight on the mid-palate, PGV is balanced and zesty with great acidity to pair with any creamy pasta dishes, a rich chicken Kiev, or flavoursome seafood fare like freshly steamed Argentinean shrimp with a mild pineapple chutney. PGV is available and unique to B.C. Save-On-Foods wine shops – 1,100 cases were produced.
