Reviews and Ratings

Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

This Chardonnay shows beautiful balance and so much flavour! Aromas of golden apple, pear, white pepper, and just a hint of warm spice, oak and toffee. Full bodied on the palate, dry, with medium+ acidity, and a smooth, creamy texture. Fruit notes are ripe and rounded, with just a hint of vanilla and warm spice on a lengthy finish. Enjoy with rich shellfish dishes - pan-seared scallops, creamy shrimp pasta, or buttery lobster.
From Short Hills Bench, Niagara Escarpment wine region, Henry of Pelham Speck Family Reserve 2019 Chardonnay is produced from sustainably-grown grapes. Dry, full-bodied, mouth-filling, plushy and vibrant on the palate with ripe pear, apple, lemon custard, toasted oak spice and flinty mineral flavours. Coming together nicely now, but could easily cellar for another year or two when it will begin to show its best. Drink or hold. Pour with roast chicken. - Community Wine Reviews
