Natalie's Score: 94/100

Henry of Pelham produces some of the best wines from the Baco Noir wine grape. This one is full-bodied with red berry, blueberry, dried herbs and earthy spice flavours on the palate. Tannins are fine and there is good acidity to enjoy this one on its own or pair with a duck confit and roasted potatoes.

Baco Noir food pairings: blackened, smoked beef dishes, grilled radicchio, hamburgers.

Reviews and Ratings

Alan Dunne rated this wine as 94/100
Carolyn Hetke rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Deep, deep purple in the glass. Opens with enticing notes of mint and red plum. Dry, tart plum and fresh raspberry on the palate. The nose and the palate evolve to smoky notes and more fruity blueberry layers. A very satisfying complex pour. Enjoy with short ribs or a juicy steak. Tasted Dec 2019. www.thewineloverskitchen.com
Linda Mertes WSET 2 rated this wine as 85/100 with the following review:

This 2017 vintage of Baco Noir is opaque ruby in the glass with a pretty rose meniscus. Dark berry and herbal aromas, this extra dry wine has medium tannins and a spicy, dry finish. Lasagna or pasta bolognese would pair well with this earthy wine.
Henry Of Pelham Speck Family Reserve Canada Baco Noir is a full-bodied Baco Noir is found throughout North America, but Henry of Pelham produces some of the best wines from this hybrid wine grape. Look for ripe boysenberry, red berries, dried herbs, smoky and earthy spice flavours on the palate with great acidity for food. Pair with bison burgers. - Community Wine Reviews
