Reviews and Ratings

Pam Hatton rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review:

After 15 years of cellaring this is fantastic. Still a lot of black fruit on the nose of black cherry plums and cassis. Elusive tertiary aromas emerge with every swirl. On the nose tobacco cedar, vanilla, pencil shavings, pepper a slight hint of bell pepper and other spices. Integrated smooth tannins let the slip down your throat easily and leave a lovely finish of fruit and a slight hint of caramelized oak. This was worth waiting for, as it really improved with age
Medium-deep ruby, it sports an intriguing nose of red and black currants, ripe plum, humus, and spicy cocoa. Dry, medium-full bodied, with balancing acidity and plenty of ripe, chunky tannins. Nonetheless, a very lithe wine – especially considering the sunny ’07 vintage. Spicy fruit character plays out on the lingering finish. Enjoy over the next 5 years. Source: Vintages Wine Panel
