Reviews and Ratings

Deborah Podurgiel WSET IV Candidate - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Harper’s Trail Estate Winery Pinot Gris 2018 is a youthful Pinot Gris already showing nice complexity. Bright pale yellow in the glass with lingering tears acknowledging its 13.8% abv. On the nose, the Pinot Gris is fresh with lemon meringue, white florals and light dusty, chalky notes. On the palate, the wine is dry, medium-bodied, crisp and mouth-watering like liquid lemon sunshine in a glass, lightly creamy with ripe yellow apple, Anjou pear, dried pineapple, guava, citrus pith, a long flinty mineral finish with a licorice kiss. Great acidity for food. It would go well with a rich wild mushroom risotto, or herb quiche as it would with a rich seafood dish like a Coquille St. Jacques, or creamy cheeses. We paired it with smoked salmon on baguette.

Harper’s Trail Estate Winery was named for the cattle drive “trail” of pioneer rancher Thaddeus Harper. Located by the South Thompson River, Thadd Springs Vineyard is set against rolling hills with a backdrop of desert sagebrush, grasses, limestone bluffs and Hoodoos where Bighorn sheep, mule deer and all manner of wildlife roam.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
