Reviews and Ratings

Deborah Podurgiel - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 94/100 with the following review:

Well, even though the ranch doors at Harper’s Trail Vineyard have closed, their new releases have not. This is a beauty of a Chard; dry, medium-bodied with bright yellow apple, Anjou pear, sweet melon, Meyer lemon, savoury sage, and baking spice flavours chalky, textured, mouth-filling and ultra-balanced with vivacious acidity and a long citrusy, flinty mineral finish. So expressive of its terroir and the best Chardonnay Harper’s Trail has made yet! Delicious now but give it a few years in cellar to show what the “untamed land” is truly made of. Only 100 cases made and when it goes, it is gone. Tasted May 2023.

Harper’s Trail Estate Winery, named for the cattle drive “trail” of pioneer rancher Thaddeus Harper was the first winery in Kamloops. Just on the outskirts of the city, on the bank of the South Thompson River, Thadd Springs Vineyard sits among rolling hills of sage and dryland shrub, home to Bighorn sheep, limestone backdrops and the mysterious Hoodoos.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
