Reviews and Ratings

Rachelle O'Connor rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

The nose is quite pleasant on this Bordeaux inspired red wine from Hamilton Russell showing black cherry, licorice, and blackberry with a palate that is notably revealing more dark fruit, earth, smoke and chewy tannins. Well crafted and beautifully presented, could benefit from a few years of aging, recommended to decant for 1-2 hours prior. Lovely accompaniement with your next charcuterie board.
Hamilton Russell Ashbourne (2009) is a robust red wine blend of 86% Pinotage, 3.5% of each of the Cabernet Franc, Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot from the Hemel En Aarde Valley in the Walker Bay wine region. Good acidity on this wine with ripe blackberry and raspberry on the palate. Drink now and for the next five years. - Community Wine Reviews

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
