A subtle and full-bodied Spanish red wine. Full-bodied and very mature with leather and dust, not a lot of fruit but still enjoyable now. This is a DOCA wine. Complex and long on the finish. Pair with rack of lamb.

Food pairings: lamb souvlaki, lamb tangine, lamburger.

Reviews and Ratings

Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

A Tempranillo, Garnacha, Graciano blend, showing cherry, vanilla and leather on nose and palate with tobacco and oak. Full-bodied and extra dry. Super with any lamb dish or savoury tapas.
Tasted July 2016.
A Rioja DOCA robust Spanish from a blend of 90% Tempranillo and 5% Graciano grown on older vines and 5% Grenache. Hacienda Lopez De Haro (2009) is more about cardamom, anise spice and smoke than it is about fruit. The wine was matured for 20 months in French and American oak. - Community Wine Reviews

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
