Attractive aromas of fleshy ripe black plums and blackberry. The 2016 vintage of this full-bodied velvet smooth southern French red wine is a blend of Syrah and Mourvèdre grapes. Pair with grilled steak.

Syrah Mourvèdre food pairings: veal steak, hearty meat dishes, roast duck.

Reviews and Ratings

Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Always a great value with lots of flavour. This blend is Syrah and Mouvedre, with aromas of blackberries, black plum, leather and a hint of smoke. Full bodied with lots of dark fruit and a hint of a smoky finish. Enjoy with steal and grilled veg.
Gerard Bertrand Syrah Mourvèdre red wine from the Saint Chinian is a full-bodied velvety smooth southern French red wine. Great value with lots of flavour. Fragrant with smoky herbs, dark berry and cherry compote aromas on the nose, dry with black cherry, white pepper spice, underbrush and wild herb flavours on the palate. Pair with grilled meats. - Community Wine Reviews
