A deeply concentrated and flavourful wine! The vineyard for this Fitou wine lies between the mountains of Corbières and the lakes and beaches along the Mediterranean coastline in southern France and the Grenache-based and Carignan robust red is a full expression of this terroir. Ripe red berry fruit, cherry and cake spice flavours are rich and generous on the palate. Drink now or hold in cellar for three years. Pair with grilled meats.

Grenache Carignan food pairings: grilled pork chops, rack of BBQ ribs, veal Porterhouse, grilled lamb, lentil dishes.

Reviews and Ratings

Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

A lively Grenache Carignan blend from Southern France with aromas of red cherry, earth, and warm spices. Full bodied with young, firm tannins on the palate, bright acidity and bright berry flavours. The finish is lengthy and slightly tart. This wine tastes young and vibrant, and would be great with any slow braised meats.
Linda Mertes WSET 2 rated this wine as 86/100 with the following review:

A blend of Grenache and Carignan from southern France, medium-garnet, with red fruit and plum aromas. Medium-bodied, low in tannins. Chill slightly and serve with appetizers or poultry.
Flavourful, rich and full-bodied ripe plum, cherry dried florals, anise flavours finishing spicy on the palate. Enjoy now with grilled Mediterranean vegetables. - Community Wine Reviews
