Reviews and Ratings

A full-bodied California Chardonnay with aromas of sweet pear, golden apple and peach with butterscotch and toasty oak. Made by the movie director Francis Ford Coppola. Pair with roast chicken. MINE: From Monterey County in California, Francis Coppola's Diamond Collection Gold Label 2016 is a full-bodied Chardonnay with fleshy tropical fruit and caramel apple flavours on the palate. Great barbeque wine for grilled chicken. OTHER: Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review: A Monterey County, California Chardonnay. Aromatic ripe pear and tropical fruit, coconut and toast lead to a rich, creamy palate, very smooth texture and lingering finish. Subtle and elegant. Pair with grilled salmon steaks or scallops in Pernod cream sauce. Tasted July 2018. OTHER: Wineboy rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review: For those that buy this Chardonnay regularly you might agree with me that there is significant variation between vintages. This vintage is back to being a full throttle oak driven buttery Chardonnay. Nothing subtle about this one in fact the oak is even made a bit more aggressive with significant charred elements. Crafted for the hedonists in the crowd. OTHER: From one of the most recognizable names in California wine, this Chard is always crafted to emphasize a floral, ripe character. Look for apple, melon and smoke in an approachable, easygoing wine that puts freshness and vibrancy at the fore (Vintages Panel, updated). - Community Wine Reviews

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
