Reviews and Ratings

Deborah Podurgiel - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Fort Berens Estate Winery Reserve Riesling (2018) is fragrant with ripe red apple, poached pear and Meyer lemon aromas on the nose; medium-bodied, fresh with ripe, apple, pear, sweet hay and bright citrus flavours fresh, smooth and well-integrated on the palate. Elegant and easy-to-enjoy on its own or with smoked salmon and brunch fare.

Wine grapes for the Riesling reserve are sourced from a select block of estate-grown grapes from Dry Creek Vineyard which are cropped to less than 3.5 tonnes/acre. Grapes are hand-harvested, whole-cluster pressed, settled, racked and fermented cool and long with native yeasts in stainless steel tank. The finished wine is bottle-aged for nine months prior to its release. Cork sealed.

This vintage was awarded Gold at the 2019 National Wine Awards of Canada and Double Gold at the 2019 Pacific Rim International Wine Competition.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
