Reviews and Ratings

Deborah Podurgiel - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

So, I tasted the 2017 red Meritage around August of last year and while it showed a lot of potential, it definitely did need some settling down. And now it’s a beautiful swan of a wine. A full-bodied red blend of 65% Merlot, 24% Cabernet Sauvignon and 11% Cabernet Franc from estate-grown grapes, fragrant with ripe blackberry, plum, underbrush and cedar spice aromas on the nose. On the palate, it is dry, mouth-filling with liquid blackberry, black raspberry, ripe Santa Rosa plum, savoury herbs, dark chocolate, nutmeg and well-integrated oak spice flavours smooth, velvety and lingering with good acidity for food. Do decant one hour prior to pouring with aged hard cheeses, ribeye steak or dark chocolate. We paired it with a venison filet mignon. Tasted December 2019.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
