Lime fresh with toasted almond on the nose, with green apple vibrancy on the palate. This is a gorgeous Australian Chardonnay from a cool climate in the country that punctuates this wine with racy acidity for food.

Chardonnay food pairings: crisp-skinned roast pork, light chicken dishes, creamy pastas and soft cheeses such as brie.

Reviews and Ratings

Andrea Shapiro rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Lovely Chardonnay from Australia’s Margaret River region. Fermented with wild yeast and aged in French oak. Pronounced aromas of pear, sweet apple and grapefruit. Some light elements of butterscotch, caramel, vanilla, toasted oak and smoke. Rich and creamy flavours consist of grilled pineapple, citrus, green apple, grapefruit pith and a touch of minerals. Striking acidity with a delicate body and a long finish. Dry (2g/L) and developing. Pair with seafood, shellfish and washed rind cheeses. 91 points - November 2017
Vasse Felix Filius (2016) is a Margaret River Chardonnay from Western Australia. The wine is smoky butterscotch with mature green apple on the palate and finishes with a racy acidity. - Community Wine Reviews

Red, White & Drunk all over by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean writes about wine with a sensuous obsession... and often laugh-out-loud funny... Terrific.

Ms. MacLean is the disarming Everywoman. She loves wine, loves drinking ... ultimately, it's a winning formula.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
