From Portugal's Douro region, Evel 2021 is a remarkable value at $15, featuring a robust blend of Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, and Tinta Roriz. Full-bodied and flavourful, it offers layers of ripe dark fruit, cherry compote, and subtle spice derived from eight months of maturation in French oak. Balanced by refreshing acidity, this wine is both rich and approachable. Pair it with Porchetta or braised short ribs.

Tinto food pairings: grilled sausages, pork chops, tourtiere.

Reviews and Ratings

Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Robust and bold, this is a great value for a powerful wine. Aromas of blackberry, black cherry, warm spices, and hints of tobacco. Full bodied, with drying tannins, bold dark berry notes, with smoke and spice on the finish. Enjoy with grilled sausages on the BBQ.
