Emmolo Sauvignon Blanc 2023 is a crisp and polished Sauvignon Blanc that leans more mineral and citrus driven than overtly tropical. It opens with fresh aromas of lime zest, grapefruit, lemon peel and melon, with subtle notes of white peach and wet stone. The palate is light to medium-bodied, clean and vibrant, showing citrus, gooseberry and a gentle saline edge, supported by bright acidity and a focused, refreshing finish. It is styled in a more restrained California profile, favouring balance over aggressive herbaceous character. Fascinating fact: Emmolo is part of the Wagner family of wines, and the grapes come mainly from Suisun Valley, a cooler maritime-influenced region that helps preserve freshness and keeps the wine from becoming overly ripe or heavy. Serve it well-chilled.

Sauvignon Blanc food pairings: seafood, light pastas, spring green salads, goat cheese and baguette.

Reviews and Ratings

Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

A very pretty Sauvignon Blanc, much softer and rounded than those from cooler climates. Aromas include sweet lemon, along with a slight floral hints, and just a touch of green herbaceousness. Light to medium bodied on the palate, dry on the palate but with flavours of soft, sweet citrus and tropical fruits, and a slightly spicy, ginger hint on the finish. Enjoy with creamy pasta dishes or chicken pot pie.
