Reviews and Ratings

Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

A bright garnet red colour with an inky nose and a palate of ripe strawberries and vanilla. Smooth strawberry finish.
In 1980, winemaker Ken decided to plant vines in the St. Jakobi vineyard. This "80 Block" was one of the earliest plantings of Merlot in the Barossa Valley, better known for Shiraz. The 2012 vintage of the 80 Block Merlot has great extraction of flavour. - Community Wine Reviews
