Tart cherry and dark spice with lots of acidity for tomato sauces on the palate. A little stemmy but still attractive. Medium-bodied and mouth-filling.

Reviews and Ratings

Rachelle O'Connor rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

This Gamay has lots of bold black fruit, and some firm tannins. The wine comes from vines planted in 1935, giving way to a complex texture. Over time as the wine develops, it will become more fruit forward and jammy.
The 2012 vintage of the Vignes De 1935 Morgon produced by Jean-Michel Dupré is made from 100% Gamay grapes grown in a single block of vines planted in 1935 in the Grand Cru area of Morgon. The soil is composed of compacted volcanic ash which lends smokiness to the wine as well as minerality to pair with poultry or cheese. - Community Wine Reviews
