Superb! Polished, bright and vibrant when I expected a monster of a dark red wine. The heft is there yet this wine doesn't taste either hot (from alcohol) or heavy -- so balanced, elegant and long in the finish. Pair with prime rib.

Food pairings: rare rib steak, apricot and fresh green herb stuffed pork chops, roast pheasant.

Reviews and Ratings

Sophia Wouter rated this wine as 99/100
Simon Chen rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review:

Simply an outstanding CDP. 65% Grenache, 15% Mouvedre, 15% Syrah, 5% Cinsault. The Grenache gives this welcoming, warm, bright fruits on the initial palate, followed by gentle acidity and smooth tannin that coat your entire mouth. Everything is very well balanced. However, it doesn't have enough depth/weight at this stage. Hopefully, aging will help!

A great CDP from a great producer!
La Crau (2013) is a BIG Ch√Ęteauneuf-Du-Pape, from Domaine Du Vieux Telegraphe. At 14.5 % abv, this wine needs food -- it also needs time in the cellar -- give it three to five years. - Community Wine Reviews
