Reviews and Ratings

Community Reviewer rated this wine as 90/100
Bernard Perrin provides us with this 2013 medium weighted Pinot Noir. It is a red wine with aromas of blackberries, plums and blackcurrants. The flavours mirror the aromas. On the palate we enjoy excellent structure and focus. The finish has full tannins. The grapes came from Domaine du Vieux Collège in the Burgundy region of France. This is a good wine for cellaring. The grapes for this wine are grown in Les Récilles vineyard and the vines enjoy a southeastern exposure. Winegrower Eric Guyard carefully cultivates almost 5 hectares of old vine Pinot Noir (30+ years) in mixed soils of stone and clay. at Les Récilles on stony soils mixed with clay and alluvial deposits. Domaine du Vieux Collège has a total of 25 hectares under vine, and is changing over to organic cultivation. The 2013 was aged for one year in oak, of which 25% was new.

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
