Produced from hand-harvested Grenache and Syrah wine grapes from the Gigondas wine region. Fragrant with a blackberry and cracked pepper nose, dry, full-bodied, lush and layered on the palate with dark cherry, dried red berries, dried herbs and spicy flavours on the palate. Pair with a roast leg of lamb. Enjoy now and for the next 15 years.

Food pairings: prime rib, hearty meat stews, pork tenderloin.

Reviews and Ratings

Carolyn Hetke rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Lovely raspberry aromas float on top of a dark fruit medley on the nose. Bright fruit carries over to the palate with some perceived sweetness. Very fine tannins on the long, rich finish. Well balanced and structured. Fruitier than many French wines. Serve with duck. Tasted Aug 2019. www.thewineloverskitchen.com
From the Gigondas in the Rhône, Domaine Du Grapillon D'or 2016 is liquid dark red velvet in the glass, fragrant with bright, dark cherry, raspberry, dark plum and licorice aromas on the nose. Full-bodied, juicy and silky on the palate. Excellent now and to be enjoyed for the next 15 years. Pair with prime rib. - Community Wine Reviews
