Domaine de Nizas Le Clos Rosé 2023 is a dry, elegantly structured rosé from the sun-drenched hills of the Languedoc. The nose opens with delicate aromas of fresh strawberry, white peach, and a subtle thread of dried herbs that reflects the wild garrigue surrounding the vineyard. On the palate it is clean and focused, with restrained red fruit, a silky texture, and a minerally, saline quality that adds depth and length to the finish. Crafted primarily from Grenache and Cinsault, it carries a pale salmon colour and sits stylistically between the refined lightness of Provence and the fuller, earthier character typical of southern French rosés. Fascinating fact: The Domaine de Nizas estate is situated near the ancient Via Domitia, the first Roman road constructed in Gaul, meaning this land has been touched by Mediterranean civilisation and viticulture for more than two thousand years. Serve it chilled to 8 to 10°C in a white wine glass or tulip-shaped rosé glass.

Rosé food pairings: grilled sea bream, herb-marinated lamb skewers, tapenade crostini, slow-roasted tomato tart, fresh goat's cheese.

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
