Reviews and Ratings

Community Reviewer rated this wine as 91/100
The ruby colour of this wine invites you to explore further. The nose pulls in aromas of the land and undergrowth. We taste the redolent flavours of berries and dark fruit with a hint of seared steak. It is an adventure just to taste. It is a 2013 Pinot Noir from Domaine Cruchandeau via Bernard Perrin in the Burgundy region of France and offers firm tannin, fine structure and a savoury finish. Julien Cruchandeau founded this winery a decade ago with 4 hectares under vine in 7 Burgundian appellations. He makes only 800 bottles of this wine a year. The vines are planted 240 metres above sea level near the Vosne-Romanée appellation and the grapes are hand harvested and sorted. The wine undergoes a 10-day cold soak maceration with punching down of the cap to extract more flavour.

Red, White & Drunk all over by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean writes about wine with a sensuous obsession... and often laugh-out-loud funny... Terrific.

Ms. MacLean is the disarming Everywoman. She loves wine, loves drinking ... ultimately, it's a winning formula.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
