Reviews and Ratings

Jenny Ratcliffe-Wright CWM rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

A flamboyant full version of Chateauneuf. The 45 year old vineyards have stones for soil, perfect for keeping the vines' feet warm to produce a super-ripe crop. There are 13 varietals permitted in Chateauneuf-du-pape, but this wine uses only 3 of the most powerful: 80% Grenache, 10% Syrah and 10% Cinsault, with 12 months in oak foudres - this wine comes out singing at full volume. It oozes intense black pepper with a delicate floral touch, and the wine's full body and viscosity makes you want to glug it. Careful though, at 14.7 % alc it may leave you fuzzy headed in the morning. Drink now (decanted for an hour) or for the next 15 years. Serve with thick cut Ontario lamb chops marinated in Hoisin sauce
Domaine Comte De Lauze 2016 is a supple, mouth-coating and full-bodied Châteauneuf-Du-Pape from the Rhône wine region. Look for ripe raspberry, mocha, pepper and baking spice flavours finishing long on the palate. Tannins are firm and chewy. Decant one hour prior to pouring with a prime rib if drinking now. Otherwise, wait a couple of years for the CNDP to begin to show its best. - Community Wine Reviews

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
