From Vacqueyras, Rhône wine region, Domaine Brunely 2018 is a medium-bodied silky red blend of 50% Grenache, 30% Syrah, 15% Carignan and 5% Cinsault. Earthy with savoury herbs and lush raspberry aromas; supple and silky on the palate with ripe black raspberry, dark cherry, dried wild herbs, pepper spice and flinty mineral flavours. Tannins are velvety. Drinking beautifully now.

Reviews and Ratings

L.J. Palmer WSET 3 rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Dark coloured wine verging on garnet, with an intense nose of licorice, red fruit, principally cherry but some strawberry and raspberry, earthy, a floral note, tar, cinnamon and black pepper. The wine is dry, with high alcohol, medium + bodied, med+ acidity and silky tannins. The palate has a pronounced flavour of licorice, black pepper, red cherry and red fruit. Pairing of beef stew cooked in red wine with rosemary and roasted garlic really drew out the black pepper notes in the wine. Wonderful on its own. A worthy substitute for Châteauneuf-du-Pape.

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
