Reviews and Ratings

Christian Marcoux rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

From the well renown Colchagua Valley in Chile, the Cono Sur Reserva Especial Carmenere 2017 reveals aromas of blackberry, plum, white pepper, sweet tobacco and sandalwood. Medium bodied with a long mellow cigar finish, Cono Sur Reserva Especial 2017 is easy to drink and shows surprisingly lovely balance for its age. On the palate, blackberry dark cherry, green bell pepper, smoke, tobacco and sandalwood. Great wine to drink on its own. Enjoy.
Cono Sur Reserva Especial 2017 is fantastic value under $20 for this Carmenère from the Cachapoal Valley wine region. Eighty per cent of the wine was matured in oak, with the balance of the wine aged in stainless steel. Look for ripe blackberry, cedar spice and dark chocolate flavours this wine. Pair with chicken Paprika. - Community Wine Reviews

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
