Very juicy with fleshy ripe black and purple plums. Lots of juicy acidity on the palate for tangy tomato meat sauces. Black fruit, smoke and toasty oak on this well-priced, robust southern French red wine made from Malbec grapes. Pair with grilled meats.

Malbec food pairings: rabbit with dumplings, venison sausage cassoulet, venison Swiss steak.

Reviews and Ratings

Melanie Lloyd rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

This Malbec has aromas of ripe dark berries with notes of sous-bois, hints of eucalyptus and a slight earthy quality. In terms of flavours, we have juicy blackberries and dark berries as well as espresso. The tannins are well integrated with the fresh acidity and it has a lingering finish.

Tasted November 2017
Clos Troteligotte K-Or (2015) is a robust, deep red 100% Malbec red wine and wine grapes were organically grown on the Winemaker, Emmanuel Rybinski's, 10-acre estate in Southwestern France's Cahors wine region. In 2005, the operation was classified under sustainable agriculture and in January 2014, Clos Troteligotte was certified organic. "The wine is rich with a dusty tannic character. It has black-currant flavors that are packed with both fruitiness and balanced acidity. The organic grapes give a pure line of ripe fruits that are going to integrate well with the tannins." - Community Wine Reviews

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
