Lychee and rosewater and baking spices, especially nutmeg. An aromatic, floral white wine with good balance and a nice finish. Try it with mild curries and Asian dishes. Good price.

Viognier food pairings: crab cakes with mango chutney, mild curries, pork tenderloin en croute.

Reviews and Ratings

When the Viognier grape decides to ripen fully and evenly, it is quite possibly the most interesting, complex and layered wine you could enjoy. Viognier's home is in the northern Rhone Valley where it produces aromatic, deeply flavoured white wines. but Viognier is just as at home in Sonoma's Cline Cellars with aromatic rose, jasmine, nectarine and spice on the nose and more of that on the palate with a long spicy, honey finish. Well done and pair with a summer night out on the patio and crab cakes, or not. - Community Wine Reviews

Red, White & Drunk all over by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean writes about wine with a sensuous obsession... and often laugh-out-loud funny... Terrific.

Ms. MacLean is the disarming Everywoman. She loves wine, loves drinking ... ultimately, it's a winning formula.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
