Reviews and Ratings

Somm4All WSET 3 rated this wine as 87/100 with the following review:

Cline Vineyards is family owner and operated in Sonoma County with owner Fred Cline being one of the original Rhone Rangers. Sonoma’s complex and varying topography and altitudes, combined with its climate of warm days and cool nights, allow for a variety of grapes to have the potential to mature evenly and fully as is the case with this Viognier. Grapes were all handpicked and matured in a 50/50 mix of neutral French oak and stainless steel, allowing for both some richness and the preservation of fruit and floral characteristics. On the nose, it is very aromatic with white flower and orange blossom, followed by white peach, pear and citrus pith. Almost off-dry and full bodied on the palate with floral, peach, pear, spice and apricot flavours. The high 14.5 ABV is well integrated with the medium finish having a floral and spicy tone to it – lovely accompanied by a spicy Asian stir-fry.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
