Aromas of smoky black fruit and mocha at a great price. Full-bodied and lip-smacking delicious with a hint of a herbal note mid-palate. Carmenère is Chile's signature grape and wine, and their version of merlot. This vibrant red packs lots of flavour in the glass and finishes with black cherry, dark spice and smoke. Perfect for holiday parties and get-togethers.

Carmenere food pairings: smoky grilled ribs, pepper steak.

Reviews and Ratings

Dan Trcka Wine Blogger rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

The 2012 Chilensis Reserva Carmenère has intense aromas of eucalyptus and black berry. It is a medium to full-bodied, extra-dry, fruity wine, with checked acidity, refined tannins and a medium finish. Drink with food or enjoy on its own; drink now-2016. My impression: NICE, 88 pts – recommended for its quality; Chilensis has long been on my list of high quality value wines.

Chilensis' San Rafael ranch is located in the heart of Chile, nestled in the foothills between the majestic Andes mountains and the Pacific Ocean. Expect a warm, mouthfilling red with aromas and flavours of juicy ripe fruit, pepper and smoke. Source: Vintages Wine Panel, undated.
