Chateau Ste. Michelle Indian Wells 2018 Merlot has a splash of Syrah (5%) added to the mix. Lovely on the nose, dry, full-bodied and rich on the palate with ripe blackberry, dark cherry, dried herb, chocolate, vanilla and subtle spicy flavours. The finished wine spent 18 months in a combination of American and French oak barrels.

Merlot food pairings: rack of BBQ ribs, veal Porterhouse, grilled lamb, cheese.

Reviews and Ratings

Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Lovely and rich Merlot with aromas of blackberry and plum, with hints of dried herbs, mocha, and just a touch of vanilla. Full bodied, smooth and supple on the palate, with rich fruit flavours, a hint of chocolate, and a slightly spicy finish. Enjoy with a hearty steak.
