Big, black and brooding: looking for a fight though not with your taste buds. This is a towering French red wine from the southern winemaking region of the country. Incredibly awesome price. Aromas of fleshy black fruit, tar, toasty oak and smoke. Pair with lamb and rosemary.

Syrah Grenache food pairings: pork tenderloin en croute served with Honey crisp apple sauce.

Reviews and Ratings

Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

From the blazing sunshine in Cotes du Rousillon, France, this Vieilles Vignes Syrah-Grenache blend is bursting with concentrated flavours of ripe red berries, spice, lavender and pepper. Made from hand-picked grapes(giving purity of flavours) in black slate soil, dry grown without irrigation. Excellent value. Try it with a juicy Jambalaya.

Mike rated this wine as 91/100
This Syrah, Grenache and Carignan red wine blend from Côtes de Roussillon in the Roussillon wine region of France and made from old grape vines in the Côtes Du Roussillon in the Midi of France. Grapes were hand-picked to preserve fruit freshness, and are low-yielding with concentrated flavours. Wines were aged in concrete tank. Incredible value here. - Community Wine Reviews
