Reviews and Ratings

Christian Marcoux rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

A great right bank wine from the Fronsac AOC region, Chateau Mayne-Vieil 2016 offers aromas of red plum, raspberry, bay leaf, potting soil, vanilla and oak. Made exclusively of Merlot, the wine exposes a full body with delicious tannins and lovely acidity. The finish is round and generous, perfect for food pairing. Palate: black cherry, sugarplum, bay leaf, new leather, baking spice and oak. Enjoy!
L.J. Palmer WSET 3 rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Luscious deep purple wine from Fronsac AOC; 100% Merlot . Pronounced aroma of juicy black fruit, blackberry and black cherry and plums , with a nice earthy hint and floral and vanilla notes. Dry, full bodied, medium tannins and acidity. Delicious with grilled steak and wonderful drinking on its own.
Château Mayne-Vieil 2016 is a Merlot-driven red wine with aromas of bright red berry, plum and smoky, toasty oak spice on the nose. Full-bodied with bright acidity for food, intense with spiced plum, red berry, baking spices and toasty oaks flavours on the palate. Tannins are grippy and this wine is still quite youthful, give it a bit of time in cellar to mellow out. Drink or hold. Pair with a roast pork. - Community Wine Reviews
