Reviews and Ratings

Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Tasted in early 2021, and it's showing beautifully. Aromas of currant, plum, and blackberry, along with hints of vanilla, smoke, and sweet tobacco. Full bodied, with some medium grippy tannins, and medium+ acidity. Fruit is ripe with a hint of tartness, as well showing some slight hints of dried herbs and tea. Still showing tons of youth and freshness.Decant for an hour and enjoy with prime rib.
L.J. Palmer rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Deep ruby, dry, med acid with strong tannins and mineral notes ahead of more subdued fruit aromas. Definite notes of vanilla, blackcurrant, cherry and a sensation of sweetness. Fruit aromas and tastes became more prominent over time. It pays to decant for several hours.A long finish of cherries and vanilla. There was a certain amount of sediment; pour carefully.
Bill rated this wine as 86/100
Château La Gravette Lacombe (2012) is a red Bordeaux blend from the Médoc wine region. Excellent price for this mostly Cabernet Sauvignon wine blend. Lots of black fruit and nice weight mid-palate. Tannins are velvety and easy. Pair it with a roast leg of lamb. - Community Wine Reviews

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
