Rustic in an extremely attractive, woodland, cedar brush way. So tasty with a great grip on the senses and palate. Loaded with black pepper and dark spice followed by fleshy blackberries and cassis. Very sexy stuff. Full-bodied and smooth. Great price.

Food pairings: tourtière, grilled gourmet burgers, slow-braised lamb shanks.

Reviews and Ratings

Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

A full-bodied flavourful red from France's Corbières appellation in Languedoc-Rousillon.
A blend of Carignan, Syrah and Grenache varietals, this wine is bursting with dark cassis, minerality and lots of garrique from the wild thyme and rosemary that grow in the area. Lingering herbal finish makes this a terrific wine paired with game, roast meat in sauce or barbequed ribs. Excellent value, so I'll definitely buy this again.
Tasted April 2018
Château Du Grand Caumont Cuvée Tradition 2014 is fantastic value for this rustic 45% Carignan, 40% Syrah, 15% Grenache red blend from the Corbières wine region in the Midi. On the nose it is cedar spice, tobacco leaf and ripe red berries. On the palate, the wine is zesty with vibrant raspberry, cherry, savoury spice and peppery flavours. Pair this drink now wine with a beef goulash or grilled bavette steak. - Community Wine Reviews
