Reviews and Ratings

Lori Kilmartin WSET3 - WSET3 Sommelier rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

The 2012 Equuleus was a highly rated wine that delivered and this 2014 is thought to have even more potential. I tend to agree. There is a good reason this blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot and 25% Cabernet Franc is the Winery's Flagship red wine. The wine has spent 16 months in 1/3 new French oak, 2/3 in non-new French oak. After blending it then rests in French oak casks for several months.
Enticing aromas of smoke, blackberry, ripe cherry and cassis. On the palate more dark ripe fruit, some spice and a rich mouthfeel. The tannins are still firm and well balanced by the acidity. A wine with structure and complexity that has ageing capability. This would make a great wine for company you want to impress. Pair with a good steak for a match made in heaven! #tasteontario Tasted March 27/18

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
